Vyla Labs was founded by a pharmaceutical scientist who got tired of reading ingredient lists that were written for marketing, not biology.

Most products are formulated to photograph well. To shelf well. To sound convincing in a caption. Vyla Labs was built on a different question: what actually gets through the skin barrier — and what does it do once it's there?

That question comes from a real place. Our founder holds a BPharm and an MSc in Pharmaceutical Science, with a thesis focused on transdermal delivery systems and ageing markers. The science of how ingredients move through biological barriers is not a brand story. It is the actual academic background.

Not a lifestyle brand that hired a scientist. The scientist is the brand.

Why Vyla Labs exists.

The beauty industry is extraordinarily good at language. "Clinically proven." "Advanced formula." "Powered by science." These phrases appear on products that contain trace amounts of active ingredients at concentrations that will never reach a follicle, never cross a membrane, never do what the label implies.

We exist because that is not acceptable to us — and we suspected it was not acceptable to you either.

Every ingredient in a Vyla Labs product has a studied mechanism. Every result we describe is grounded in pharmacological reality. We explain what each active does and why it was chosen, because you are capable of understanding it — and because you deserve to.
